Hi,
When I am using one app and have other open like normal I will swipe up with 3 fingers to open mission control. For some reason now when I do that it only shows a blank desktop screen and not all the other open apps I am using at that moment in time.
Can someone please help with this? I have tried turning it on and off again but it seems not that simple this time round.

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
