Roku/TCL airplay

So, I did not know that you could airplay for a TV like this. So I noticed that I could connect it as a HomeKit accessory. So, naturally I tried to do this, but with no avail. I scanned the code presented on my TV, and so my phone started to try to connect, but it was not successful. I tried to enter the code manually, and the same results appeared. What am I doing wrong? The TV is connected to the internet, my phone is connected to the internet and on the latest version? I kept my phone on the mantle literally right next to the TV, and made sure the screen did not turn off! I just want to know if there is anything I can do to make it work? Obviously, in the photo I am not near the TV, but I was not trying to pair it...

Hey adamforshad,

We're glad you thought to ask Apple Support Communities about adding your Roku TV to Homekit. First, make sure it's on the list as a compatible device: iOS - Home Accessories

If not, you may be able to set it up to simply AirPlay to, without adding it to the Home app. These guides will help:

AirPlay system requirements

Use AirPlay to stream video or mirror your device’s screen

If AirPlay or screen mirroring isn’t working on your device

You'll also want to be sure that Bluetooth is turned on for both your iPhone and your TV. We also found the following resource for using the Apple TV app on your Roku TV that you may find helpful: Watch on Roku

Thanks, and take care.
