HP Printer/Driver download won't work with Big Sur upgrade

How can I get a printer working again? I have now tried two HP Printers and neither will work or let me run downloaded printer driver software. I get this message " This volume does not meet the requirements for this update." Please help. I need to PRINT Documents!!!
