Where did the Wallet settings go in iPadOS 14.4?

After upgrading to 14.4 there is no longer a Wallet section under Settings on my iPad. I can see payment methods listed under my Apple ID but there’s no way to do things like add $ to Apple Cash, see my Apple Card transactions etc. as I used to do.

I had upgraded from iPadOS 13 so I can’t compare 14.4 to earlier 14.x. Other than this issue (& the “private MAC address” feature which I stumbled onto while making Wi-Fi work again), the update seemed to go smoothly.

All phone-support would say is there is “no longer’ a wallet app on the iPad, it’s not compatible with the iPad. AFAIK there’s never been a wallet app on the iPad but that didn’t stop the repetition, so I came here.

Would someone please respond to let me know if they have a wallet section under settings on their iPad running 14.4? or if this is just a ridiculous new limitation of 14.4 or 14.x on the iPad?

thank you!

You are correct in that the Wallet App has never been present on iPad; the Wallet App is a component of iOS for iPhone only.

I have multiple iPad devices within reach that have been updated to iPadOS 14.4; all have Wallet in iPad Settings:

Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay

I recommend that you force-restart your iPad - as this will often resolve isolated issues:

If iPad isn’t responding, do one of the following:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

If iPad still doesn’t turn on, or if it gets stuck during start up, see the Apple Support article If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t turn on or is frozen.
