error 2006

I have an iPad that hasn't been used in quite a while. I forgot the passcode, so I tried to restore the device. Unfortunately, I keep getting errors (different ones, but mostly either (4) or (2006). Please help!

Looks like your cable may be bad or you may have a bad USB port on your computer. Have you tried a different cable and/or port?

Error 2006 is the error message that we would receive mostly when we try to restore or update our device with iTunes.

You can try by updating iTunes to latest version.

Still if you don't see any result then you can also try AnyFix tool that will fix error with your iTunes.

Also check your usb wire and usb connection.

Thank you for the suggestions. The issue is resolved. My operating system needed an update.
