Hi, Can you please tell me how i can upgrade past os x yosemite. I have tried to upgrade to high sierra via the app store but when trying the link passes the msg This copy of the Install macOS High Sierra application is damaged, and can‘t be used to instal

Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and UUIDs (if present). Delete "Install macOS High Sierra" from the Applications folder. Then download again while in Safe Mode.
Hi, I have tried this and downloaded macOS High Sierra in safe mode. It downloads but when restarting it throws up the error message: macOS could not be installed on your computer. An error occurred while verifying firmware.
Any ideas ?
