Why my iPhone XR keeps getting ejected out of every Mac computer I connect it to? Brand new MacBook Pro 13” 2020 and IPhone XR from 2019/20. Cables are original.

I’m afraid those options are not working and I’m not willing to upgrade to macOS Big Sur due to incompatibility issues.
What else could it be?
