12.5.1 problems
I just updated my iPhone 6 to 12.5.1 and have discovered that my battery is draining very quickly. The phone also tends to heat up. Have others experienced this? Why? What can I do about it?
iPhone 6, iOS 12

That is a pretty high percentage for a battery that old. I would give your phone 72 hours before doing anything out to see if the battery drain slows. If it doesn't click on the Contact Support link at the top right of this page to start the service process. They can test your battery remotely.

You have a very old device.
What is the battery health?
It was fine before I upgraded to 12.5.1
Not what I asked.
What is your battery health?
How do I determine that?
Look in Settings / Battery.
93% max capacity
currently supporting normal peak performance
does the 93% reflect current remaining capacity. I had just charged it and it was ~ 93% when I checked.
That has nothing to do with charging, it is showing the health of the battery, if it hits 80% or below it needs changing. How old is this iPhone and have you had the battery changed?
About four years old. Never changed battery.
It was 97% minutes ago. Now it’s 78%.
I will contact Apple support. Many thanks.
