I'm trying to remove my MDM from my sons iPad.
I had it through my business MDM but his new school needs it removed.
I have unenrolled it in Jamf Now and released it in Apple BM but on his device it doesn't give me the "Remove MDM" option.
Can anyone help?

So because I unenrolled in instead of removing management this has basically caused an error?
I can easily do a factory reset then reinstall everything from iTunes backup but will a factory reset even get rid of the MDM?
Actually I just checked with a device that is still enrolled and "remove" management isn't even an option. Options are: Unlock Device, Unassign, Unenroll, Erase, Restart, Shut Down.
I feel like Unenroll is the only one that makes sense to remove MDM. And it removed it from Jamf Now so seems like it did what it was supposed to do?
Yes. The backup includes all profiles.
I'm in the Apple store right now. The business team, and the tech team out the back, have no idea how to fix this problem.
Basically just palmed me off with some phone number to call.

Did you simply unenroll in Jamf Now, or did you remove management?
I unenrolled it in Jamf Now. Then released it in Apple BM.

There is a difference between unenrolling and removing management. At this point, your only option would be to wipe the device and set it up as new.
A factory reset will get remove the MDM if the device has been released from Apple Business Manager.
Nope. Factory reset and MDM is still there and no Remove option.
How do I fix this?

You factory reset and set up as a new device, not from a backup? If so, the MDM cannot be there unless you released the wrong device from Jamf Now/Apple Business Manager.
So if I restore from a back up it will always still be there? So I have to fully start from scratch with their iCloud/apple profile?
