Compress in the files app.

Hello, I was trying to zip some photos in the files app but there is no compress button on the iPad (while there is on the iPhone) is there any way to do it on the iPad without airdropping it to your iPhone and airdropping it back again?

iPad Pro, iPadOS 14

Hey macbookiphone,

We see you'd like to compress some photos into a ZIP file but don't see the option on your iPad.

This feature is compatible with iPad, take a look at the "On iPad" section of the following article:

If you don't see the options as outlined in that article, or if you receive an error feel free to reply to this post.

Cheers!

Hey macbookiphone,

Thanks for the screenshot. If you attempt to compress two or more different files, do you still only see Copy?

Additionally, can you confirm the following?

  • What version of iPadOS your iPad is on under Settings > General > About?
  • Do you have Restrictions enabled under Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions?
  • Are there any profiles installed under Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management? Install or remove configuration profiles on iPad

Cheers!
