Software Update for my iPad 2 Air

I need some guidance on how to connect my iPad to my MacBook Air and use iTunes (isn't now called, Music) to install the update?

See Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. In Catalina and Big Sur device management duties have been passed to Finder, though you may find it easier to update over the air.
