auto unlock 2013 macbook air

is it possible to set up a way to automatically unlock my 2013 MacBook air? I tried to set up the way I unlock my other Mac using my Apple Watch but the MacBook Air does have a option for that is settings. so is there any other way to do it so I don't have to type in a 12 diet password every time I use it ?

thanks.

Hi Timb2020,

It seems you're having trouble setting your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac and we can help

Let's check to see if your Mac supports unlocking with your Apple Watch:

"If you're not sure whether your Mac supports Auto Unlock, press and hold the Option key while choosing Apple menu > System Information. Select Wi-Fi in the sidebar, then look for ”Auto Unlock: Supported” on the right:

"

Do you see Auto Unlock as Supported in System Information?

If yes, follow the steps to set up here:

Best of luck.
