Messages
I have been using a iCloud email for messages, and now I want to switch to a phone number. Will any of my contacts or anything be lost? And can other people still message me without giving them my new phone number?

You will NOT lose any data by including Messages with phone number. Those who messaged you using your email address will continue to message you in that fashion and you do not have to disclose your Phone number to them if you do not want to.
