I bought the office series on iTunes, yet anytime I go to play it on “up next” the only option it gives me is to open in Peacock. I don’t even have the peacock app. So I have to go to my purchases and click each episode individually instead of it playing automatically. It’s really annoying.

Hey we had the same problem.
The workaround is go to Apple TV App, Library, then TV Shows & select The Office.
Good news is it works, you still have access to the show.
Let me know if that doesn’t work for you.
This didn’t fix the issue for me either. The only way I can get temporary relief from this issue is to open The Office from the “TV Shows iTunes” app, go to “purchased”, play an episode there, and then return to Up Next and sometimes that will make it work on the next episodes. It’s not consistent though.
when going to “get support” what option should be selected? Is it an Apple TV issue or an iTunes Store issue?
It's because of NBC, I believe.
I can still play episodes individually in TV SHOWS, but if you try to do it through WATCH NOW in the APPLE TV app, it does not work.
There's probably some proprietary fight behind the scenes between Apple and NBC, and you can no longer mimic the Netflix experience using WATCH NOW.
Instead, NBC wants you paying for Peacock, even if you already purchased your favorite shows from them another way.
That's my guess.

If I press “The Office” in my up next menu, it only gives me the option to watch it on Peacock, an app I don’t have. If I watch it from my purchases, it does not automatically play the next episode. So to work around this, every time I want to watch a few episodes I have to go into my purchases, scroll past every single episode to find the one I’m looking for (search in purchases needs vastly improved), play it from purchases, pause it and then it’ll show up in my Up Next menu. I have to do this every time and it’s super annoying. There has to be a way around this.
I’m having this very same issue with The Office series. Such a horrible user experience. I have tried all the recommended fixes. I’m seeing numerous post about this specifically with The Office series. What’s the deal Apple?
Same problem here. Tried talking to Apple phone support and they were no help. Didn’t seem to understand the issue, no possible solution offered. SUPER annoying. If you purchase something through Apple, why would it not work in up next!??

I’m having the same problem. I think it’s all about money, when Peacock takes over it can cost $$ — and a lot of people don’t even realize Peacock is taking over. It’s pretty screwed up.
Same here, some days it will work in Up next, the. For the last week, it is trying to open in Peacock again. SO annoying!
