Music stops every time I receive a notification on my Apple Watch

When I am listening music on my iPhone using my AirPods, every time I receive a notification on my Apple Watch the music stops because the AirPods automatically connects to the Watch. And I have to manually connect them again on my iPhone! Is there a way I could stop my AirPods connecting to my Apple Watch automatically?

Thank you for the reply Israel1410!

Yes you can disconnected your AirPods from your Apple Watch by going to Settings > Bluetooth > Tap the "i" icon next to your ‌AirPods‌ in the list > Tap Forget Device.

We hope this helps!

Hey there Israel1410,

We understand you're experiencing an issue with your AirPods disconnecting from your iPhone when you receive a notification and you have to manually connect them again. We are here to help.

To start, if you haven't already, reset your AirPods, and check for the issue again.

Also, check for any sources of interference: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference

If the issue persists, provide more details, including if you see "Not Connected" or "Connected" in the Bluetooth settings when this occurs.

Thanks!

Thank you for the answer! I tried the recommendations but the problem it hasn't resolved. However, I want to point out that my AirPods disconnects when I receive a notification on my Apple Watch, not my iPhone. When this happens, in my iPhone it stills appears that the AirPods are "Connected" but when I play the music the music plays on my iPhone not my AirPods. It is like my AirPods connects automatically to my Apple Watch rather than my iPhone. I want to know if I could stop my AirPods connecting to my Apple Watch to avoid this situation.

I am having the exact same issue. I am streaming music from Pandora on my phone and notifications from my Apple Watch disconnect the AirPods and stops the music.

I have to manually restart the music from the phone and select AirPods as the output. If I try to restart the music from the Apple Watch it will play from the speaker on the phone and not the AirPods.
