Apple ID in the App Store

I don’t know why but there is a different Apple ID on my App Store , which is very similar to mine, but it won’t let me download any apps since it keeps telling me that my password is incorrect. How do I remove it and put my Apple ID instead?

iPad, iPadOS 14

Hi, Lamar,

Thanks for stopping by the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like an incorrect Apple ID is signed into the iTunes & App Store on your iPad. We're happy to help!

First, head into Settings to verify which Apple ID is signed into the iTunes & App Store there: Sign in with your Apple ID - Apple Support. If it is the incorrect one, you should be able to sign out, and then sign into the correct one.

If your device was used by someone else before, or you previously had a different Apple ID, it's also possible you may be seeing the incorrect Apple ID when an update to an app is requested. This would indicate that app was downloaded with the incorrect Apple ID. To resolve this, you will need to delete the app: How to delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support, then redownload it using the current Apple ID: Download apps and games on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.

Should you still need help, don't hesitate to respond back.

Cheers!
