iPad restoring

I wanted to restore my iPad back to factory settings, i booted it up into recovery mode(with the connect to computer logo) and all. When i try to update and restore the iPad, it downloads the update file but my iPad exits the recovery mode by the time the update file is done downloading. When i redo the process above, it downloads the update file again and my ipad leaves recovery made. Any way to restore my Ipad without this repeating?
