High Sierra install without App Store

How can I get High Sierra on my mac if it can NOT be downloaded from the mac store ... I see links everywhere on the Apple site, but they all indicate that it is not available in the app store! How the heck can I download High Sierra to get rid of many problems with other software ....

Is this the link you're using?

Don't use FireFox for this link…

https://itunes.apple.com/app/macos-high-sierra/id1246284741?mt=12

If you get a corrupted message...

Naw, not damaged, it's just that you have an old copy already in Applications, Trash the Install MacsOS High Sierra.app in Applications then a new copy of a more recent version can be downloaded.

When I use that link (https://itunes.apple.com/app/macos-high-sierra/id1246284741?mt=12) in Safari my computer opens the software update window of the control panel at attempts to locate the update before giving this error:

Update not found. The requested version of macOS is not available

The link I get from the "How to Get Old Versions of macOS" Apple Support webpage is slightly different:

https://apps.apple.com/app/macos-high-sierra/id1246284741?mt=12

... and that link just leads me to a dead-end page that sticks forever saying:

Connecting to the Mac App Store

..

To use the Mac App Store, you need Mac OS 10.6.6 or greater. For more information, please click here

I am using a MacBook Air running macOS11.1... so that isn't the problem, and there is no High Sierra update available on the App Store anyway (at least not that I can find).

Thanks

The link doesn't work on Safari for me either.

I need to make a bootable drive for an older iMac and don't know where to find the installation file for High Sierra. I was able to download El Capitan, except that my new computer (MacBook running Big Sur) won't let me open the pkg file to access the .app that I need to create the bootable disk...
