App Store problem

I have a new iPhone 12. When I try to download an app from the App store. I am asked to sign in with AppleID which I do and everything seems to go fine. Then because it is my first visit to the store I am asked to review the terms of service and sign in again. They say they want both my AppleID and password but only give me 1 box. If I put either in the box or both I get the message it is incorrect and the App does not end up on my phone. I have re-tried several times and it is always the same

Typically, the first box is for your Apple ID. Once entered, tap the arrow to the right (or tap go on the keyboard, each version of iOS is slightly different) and it will prompt you for your password. Enter it, tap Go/Enter or any similar button on your keyboard (again, each version is different) and you should be good to go.
