Video decoder or demuxer had an error with the content

I was given a MacBook Air (M1 2020) running Big Sur. While using Safari I am getting the following message when streaming videos, sometimes at the beginning of the video sometimes half way through:

"Video decoder or demure had an error with content (playback video decoding error)"

I also have a MacBook Pro 2013 running Catalina which runs the same video with no problems.
