what is the best way to transfer data from 2016 mac running hi sierra to a new iMac next week-time machine back up?? or just migration assistant or direct cable connection thanks

When the new Mac arrives connect the old Macs Time Machine External Hard Disk to it using a USB cable before you turn on the new machine. When you start the new computer it will launch Setup Assistant, SA will get to a point where it asks if you are ,migrating from another Mac, select yes and follow the on-screen prompts. It’s that simple!
