Find my iPhone
Recently I noticed that every time I look at my phone (unlock it) the icon pops up that I’m being tracked. When I look at what app is using it, it’s find my iPhone. Any idea why. Literally all day it’s tracking me.

On the previous page it explains what the purple arrow means. See the picture I attached.
It’s normal and safe. Find my iPhone is designed to help you locate your iPhone if it’s lost, missing, or stolen. So it’s going to regularly check to see where the iPhone is to update your location.

Like I already said “designed to help you locate your iPhone if it’s lost, missing, or stolen.”
This means it’s keeping it current with the last known location to be prepared if it gets lost, stolen or goes missing. What use would it be if it didn’t?
Can you share a screenshot of the icon that appears?
Just turn it off if it is bothering you that much.
I understand that. I guess my question is why does it continuously check my location all day every day. Literally every time I look at my phone it pops up.
Because you powered up the phone when you looked at it and moved the iPhones.
Why would it need my location the exact moment I’m using? It’s “find” my iPhone. Not track me every 20 minutes.
I don’t know how to explain it any simpler. 🤦♀️🤷♀️
