macOS Sierra to High Sierra (unable)

I've tried numerous times (including with higher level apple support persons on the phone) to upgrade Sierra to High Sierra. I can download it but will not install in either regular or safe mode. "An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running the application again".

10.13.6 no go, it wants 10.13 which is unfindable.

I tried 10.13.2. no go, it too wants 10.13

Tried terminal install process, no go..

Hi there,

I think you downloaded the 10.13.6 Combo Update which requires an earlier version of 10.13, use these instructions...

Don't use Firefox for this link...

https://itunes.apple.com/app/macos-high-sierra/id1246284741?mt=12

If you get a corrupted message...

Naw, not damaged, it's just that you have an old copy already in Applications, TDon't use Firefox for this link...
