Box’s tools don't work with M1 apple Silicone macs

The help articles on apple’s site about collaborating with pages and numbers are not correct because Box’s tools don’t work with M1 chips and apple silicone.

It appears that you're having a problem using the Box application on your Mac with the M1 chip and Apple silicon. We're glad to glad to provide assistance.


If you need to install Rosetta on your Mac - Apple Support -- Since the Box app is an Intel-based application, you'll need to install Rosetta on your Mac for Box to work as expected.

Unfortunately it's more complicated than that. Box Drive uses an intel only .kext which does not run at all on the M1. It should be made apparent on Apple's site that Box.com's iWork sharing feature is not possible on M1 Apple silicone.
