I have done this many times. I held down the 4 keys while turning on the computer...restarted in the normal way. I turned on the computer and then held down the 4 keys; again stated in the normal way. I have tried these steps time and time again with the same results...normal turn on sequence with my login page appearing.
You only have to reset NVRAM once. What about step 7?
OK, I finally completed the 7 steps. Now when I turn on the Mac I get a white screen with a O with a slash through it. Looks like a do not sign. What do I do now?
OK, I called Apple support, I am very computer illiterate, and they walked me through getting it restarted. Thanks to all who responded. Mike
You're welcome. Glad it's resolved.
