Why is Malwarebytes considered safe but all others are not?

I want to know why Malwarebytes is OK, but all other AntiVirus products "slow down your Mac and don't do anything and cause problems". What's so special about Malwarebytes?

It originated from a tool that only removed Adware, which it still does, well.

It now installs a kernel extension and a useless scanner.

I no longer recommend it for that reason.

Also, I think a lot of people don’t know that it does this. The recommendations to use it are primarily to remove adware, not for use as an anti-virus, which would be useless.

If you need a tool to remove Adware that you installed, use EtreCheck. Or, just don’t install adware (or any malware for that matter). You can’t get Malware on a Mac without installing it.
