New iPad-can’t call from

I got an iPad 8 today. I’ve done everything to sync it to my iPhone. I’ve tried to turn on the calls from other devices on iPhone, but it said it couldn’t. Both devices are signed into iCloud. When I try to make a call from my new iPad it says....YOUR IPHONE IS NOT CONFIGURED TO ALLOW PHONE CALLS USING THIS IPAD. I don’t know what to do...???
