Importing AVCHD from a Panasonic HMC-150 Pro Camcorder into FCP Ver. 6.0

Hello All;
Is it posible to import a AVCHD (.MTS) file into FCP Version 6.0 and edit it and then render it to different format ?

I tried everything and FCP doesn't seem to recognize the .MTS files.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to import, combine, and edit some HD footage from a Panasonic HMC-150 camcorder.

I am using OSX Leopard (Not Snow Leopard) I don't know the number designation as i'm not by you system now.

Thanks, David;
WOW I am totally impressed with this Forum - I didn't think I'd get a response so fast - within minutes after I posted.

And you answered my next question I was about to ask ... I am afraid I didn't realize I had to keep the avchd file structure intact so I just copied the .MTS files. I am reading lots of places that this is important so the next times, i'll be sure to copy the whole file structure, not just the .MTS files.

So looks like I'll be getting clipwrap2 as you suggested. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond.
