Go to the store, and see what the tag says. Does it say "2020 model"? If so, it is a "bit misleading".

What are the specifications of the iMac you bought, it will say in About this Mac. Without this information no one can answer your question accurately. Once we have the specs then we can figure out which iMac you got and tell you if you are over reacting or not.

If you purchased an iMac Pro as in your tag line, yes it will be a 2017 model as that is the only model of iMac Pro ever released.

Apple is still selling one 2017 iMac (the cheapest one is 2017).
