Could a late 2012 mac mini logic board with a missing transistor be repaired ?

Yes, I have used repair services on eBay that will re-solder and replace parts for a fixed fee.
It's less expensive than a full replacement board.
As a matter of fact, I had a 2014 MBP GPU replaced and the board went thru re-solder wave machine to secure the solder joints for a flat $115.
Well worth it because a logic board is over $300.
I would go for a new one if it wasn't so crazy expensive and had the same number of USB ports and had a line in socket which for me is needed. yes I'll have to look for another 2012 version of which there are many on ebay
Good luck finding someone that has the part and will to fix it.
A decent 661-7017 logic board will cost as much or more than a used Late 2012 Mac Mini.
At this point, I personally think that you would be better off spending the money on a new or newer Mac Mini.
