Keyboard Delays on iPad

I have recently upgraded to iOS14.4 on my iPad and am now experiencing issues particularly on Safari where there is a delay in the keyboard appearing to complete login details (worse case keyboard does not appear at all !)

I went to apple who suggested a full reinstall, which I have done a few times but no improvement. They suggest it may be a hardware issue, but I'm am sceptical as it was working OK before the upgrade

Anyone else experienced this ? Anyone found a solution ?
