How to install MacOSX from scratch. Original OSX overwritten by Linux.

My son installed Linux over the original OSX install on my wife’s old (2009 13” white plastic with intel processor). I bought OSX Lion in the on-line Apple store but cannot figure out how to actually get the software ( only have a e-mail, no media) and get it onto a bootable USB for installing.

Unfortunately that model is pre internet restore capability. You are going to need to get the 10.6.3 retail installer disc to reinstall 10.6, and then run the 10.6.8 combo update to get the App Store returned so you can download and install 10.7.
