How to show parts of an image until completion?

Hi,

I am trying to show only parts of an image until the entire thing is finally shown, by this I mean I am reading a reddit post in the video and I aim to use the screenshot of that reddit post as I am reading specific lines from that post, I only want those lines to be shown while adding more lines from that image as I read that post to completion then the entire image is shown. How can I do this in iMovie

For example see the video below-

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.1

Hi,

You might find it easier to simply use the scrolling credits title to scroll up as your voiceover speaks. You can do this by opening the scrolling credits title and deleting all of the default text. Then you can type in your text as one block and have it scroll as you speak.

Another way would be to create multiple screen shots. So, if you have 3 lines of text, make a screen shot of just line 1, and place the screen shot in the timeline. Then make a screen shot showing lines 1 and 2 and place it in the timeline. Then make a screen shot of lines 1, 2, and 3 and place it in the timeline. As the playhead moves along the time line it will sequentially display each screen shot so that text line 1 first appears, then line 2, then line 3. You can add your voiceover to speak the lines as they appear. You can adjust the duration of each screen shot to sync with your voice.
