I'm unable to use Wine to open exe files

I have downloaded WineBottler and everything worked out great. When I reached the part where I need to open an exe file, wine tells me it is opening the application but after that it displays a warning saying I need to find a log file. I really need help with this problem because I tried installing other programs like XQuartz/X11 and nothing worked. I also tried both the latest and the 1.8.0 stable version of WineBottler to see what was going on and the same problem happened on both versions.
