'Filter' failed error when printing from HP HP Envy 6230

Can anyone tell me how to overcome this, please? Using macOS High Sierra.

Do you have the latest drivers from HP for your operating system version, and has the firmware been checked? See https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-photo-6200-all-in-one-printer-series/9073045/model/16483137 .


Also, the HP ENVY Photo 6230 All-in-One Printer is mentioned in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a printer supporting the driverless AirPrint technology, so it should work even without drivers (if added as an AirPrint printer with a network connection via a Wi-Fi router).

Add a printer on Mac - Apple Support


If necessary, reset the printing system.
