Big Sur Won’t Install

MacBook Pro (13”, 2018, 4 Thunderbolt 3 Ports) using High Sierra 10.13.6

Downloaded macOS Big Sur with plenty of space remaining.

When selecting the disk where I want to install it, I get a pop-up, “The volume is not compatible with this update” even though my model is on Apple’s published compatible list for Big Sur.

What am I missing? Thanks in advance!
