An old thread on the subject suggests connecting to iTunes to rename the device (4s) to "iPod", but one person suggested doing this on the iPhone BEFORE connecting to iTunes. This sounds like a good idea - has anyone done this successfully? (my iPhone has no SIM, since I haven't used it as a phone for years.
