My employer just bought the imageFormula R50 to working remotely. I installed it on my MacBook Pro. It was operating fine. Last night my laptop installed an OS update and now the device doesn't work. Gives me a "driver error". My OS version now says 10.15.7. Is there a fix for this? I hate to tell my employer they spent money and now it doesn't work.

Canon released drivers for this device in July 2020, which should be compatible with Catalina 10.15.7. If you haven't already, I recommend downloading and installing them.
Your device is known technically to Canon as the imageFORMULA DR-C225 II Scanner, though for some strange reason, Canon also refers to it as the imageFORMULA R50. Neither model name is supported by the paid VueScan product.

I am sorry you are having scanner problems. If you will bear with me, I will offer some things to consider. Whenever we install an operating system upgrade or some OS updates, printers and scanners will often stop working. Then a new OS compliant softwarer must be installed. What you can do is to thoroughly check the scanner's web site for updated software that works. If it is not available, then you should ask when it will be released. If that isn't successful, try using Apple's Image Capture app. It scans, but does not provide full featured scanning. Otherwise, then you can check the web site below. It is a scanning app which is full featured and well supported. There is a cost for it, but you can try it for free to see if you like it. It is worth checking out.
