Thanks for the follow-up info. First let's make sure the software on your iPhone 12 Pro Max is current. Follow the steps here to check, and update if needed:

We'd also like to have you reset the network settings on the device to help with this issue. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.
