iPad Pro 2020 12.9 screen and camera protection, is it needed and if so recommendations

Just bought new iPad Pro 2020 for 80+ year old mom along with floating keyboard. Apple store online said do not add screen protector to this iPad not needed and will ruin picture quality and may not work with face recognition but apple tech support says add. I am really confused do we add or not? If so went online to see screen protectors, which one is best for this iPad Pro 2020? Also see that there are now iPad Pro camera protectors too. Any advice? I’m in Canada in code red lock down so parents can’t leave house.
