I NEED HELP WITH THE ACTIVATION LOCK

i got a new ipad from my cusion and they gave me the username and password but it didn't work then it started to ask for activation lock

They must have given you the wrong user credentials to remove Activation Lock from this iPad. Have them enter them or have them follow the steps in the following article. Until they do, no one here, nor Apple can remove this anti-theft lock.
