my ipad keeps crashing

My iPad keeps crashing on certain apps eg sky news, apple news and google. I still have over half my storage empty and the device is no older than 3 years so it is not due to that. I am becoming increasingly frustrated with the apps suddenly closing and when I go back into the app it has lost the stage I was up to. It seems to be happening more and more since the lastest update, which took ages to load and has slowed my device down.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling the apps but it is not making any difference and my WiFi speed is excellent as I have been checking to see if that was the cause.

If Apple reads these questions please sort the glitches out as I have been a customer of yours for many years but am getting quite vexed with the poor service errors we now seem to be getting on the software.
