I just bought a new IPad Pro and was wondering if it was possible to read from a SD Card without downloading? On my Mac I have the option of looking a large pictures directly from the SD Card then picking the pictures I want to download. I my have 2000 pictures on each SD card
The iPad will show thumbnails of the photos you can look at without downloading them. It will only download them if you choose to.
You can also use the Files App, to access the card, like you would on Finder on a Mac.

The thumbnails are way to small to see, on my Mac it works great the picture is the size of the screen, on the IPad its like 1”x1”. I can’t find a files app where would I found that, its not at the top like on the Mac
On an iPad the files App is the blue folder icon:
It would be on one of your home screens, or on the dock at the bottom possibly.
