Why are in-app purchases pending for 10-14 days?

Apple Pay purchases are charged to my primary card almost immediately. In-app purchases used to lag for no more than a couple days. Now they sit pending for a week or more. Support says they bundle together after 10-14 days and I can’t push them through faster. If I authorize a payment, it shouldn’t take that long to clear my account. Are there any alternatives to make direct purchases in-app?
