Watch display brightness

Hello!

I am Apple Watch SE 44mm owner (watch OS 7.3 // 18S801)

there was a misunderstanding of one point:

Display brightness is set to medium

but sometimes when I turn my wrist and activate the screen, I notice that the brightness is lower than the medium one set by me in the settings (while in the settings everything is as usual)

maybe there is a dependence between the brightness of the screen and the ambient light?

Hello Max2x,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Being able to adjust your Apple Watch brightness is super important, and we'd be happy to help.

Which iPhone model, and iOS version are you using with your Apple Watch? Settings > General > About.

"Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch, then tap Display & Brightness to adjust the following:

Brightness: Tap the Brightness controls to adjust, or tap the slider, then turn the Digital Crown.

Text size: Tap Text Size, then tap the letters or turn the Digital Crown.

Bold text: Turn on Bold Text.

You can also make these adjustments on your iPhone. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap My Watch, tap Display & Brightness, then adjust brightness and text."

We hope this information is useful. Kind regards.

Hello Max2x,

Thanks for getting back to us with those additional details. We understand your concern with your Apple Watch brightness being lower than expected, and we'd be happy to help.

Next, let's try to restart both your iPhone and your Apple Watch:

Another thing we can try is to unpair, and re-pair your Apple Watch. However, before you do, we recommend ensuring your Apple Watch is backed up as shown here:

Back up your Apple Watch

Once you have a backup, check out our page for unpairing here:

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

When you re-pair your device, test brightness again, and let us know if the behavior changes.

We'll be waiting for your response. Cheers!
