To clarify, local snapshots are a temporary measure your Mac takes automatically to keep backing up even if your Time Machine drive is not connected. These snapshots are saved to your Mac's internal drive and are automatically managed by macOS. You can see more details here:


This message most often appears if there is not enough free space on your Macs internal drive to create the snapshot backup. Take a look at the tips below for best practices on managing your Mac's internal storage.


If you were running low on space, after freeing some up attempt to run Time Machine again. If you receive the same message, let us know.
