MacOS Big Sur 11.2 Update

Have been trying to do this update for several days now — without success! Always gets as far as Preparing macOS Big Sur 11.2 update . . . With 10 minutes to go . . . . And never gets any further. As suggested on the Q&A page, I have tried the Force Quit/ Safe mode option without any success. Plus Command L — just tells me I am up to date.!! Then the Software Update indicator comes back up. Also tried Command R but that didn’t do anything for me.

What am I doing wrong? Apple, why are so many people having this problem?

Is there a way to install from scratch ? Not via System Preferences?

Thanks, Sue

You are probably not doing anything wrong.

I had trouble updating too. In several tries, it failed to download.

I then restarted in Safe Mode and applied the update: success.
