Macbook Pro / M1 Chip / Big Sur / SMB: Connecting to windows file server issue

Hello lads, I'm not able to connect to my fileserver. Steps I've been following are listed below. Anyone has similar issues or solution ? Thanks in advance.

Connect to server --> smb://x.x.x.x

Leads me to enter your name and password for the file server screen. I select connect as registered user

Name: my.username

Password: mypassword

no connection :(

No longer able to connect to server: "URLs with the type "smb:" are not supported" I use a MacBook Pro (2020, Intel, running Ventura 13.5) at work, where it is unofficially tolerated and very emphatically unsupported by our IT group. I've used Macs here for years and have made things work, but yesterday, mid-day, I tried to connect to our server and got the message "URLs with the type "smb:" are not supported". I hadn't changed anything, and the server had worked in the morning, and continues to work for my Windows colleagues. My understanding of these things is limited, so forgive me if there's an obvious solution I'm missing here. I initially connected to the server by typing in the URL—when I try to look for servers on the network nothing comes up (and never did), but I may be doing this wrong. Anybody have any suggestions? This is the main place my team keeps files so just living with it is not really an option. If I can't figure anything out in the next couple days I'm literally just going to order a Windows computer because I really can't live without access to this (right now people are moving things to me on USB sticks but I'll need overseas access soon).

Unable to connect to smb shared drive since upgrade to Ventura 13.0 Using macOS Monterey, I could connect to a shared Windows folder. But now that I've upgraded to MacOS Ventura 13.0, I can't connect to any Windows shared folders anymore. The OS gets stuck at the authentication page, I'm entering the correct username/password combination, the dialog doesn't accept my input. It stuck here: I also tried to mount an SMB folder using the mount_smbfs command, but I get an unknown error -1073741811: I'm sure this issue is with the newer version of macOS, as I experienced the same issue on another PC, everything was working fine just before the update. smb server disconnect when copying files Hi, I have begun to experience an issue after the latest update to Big Sur 11.3.1 where my mac disconnects from my work server when copying files or when opening/saving in different programs. On occasion, the connections last long enough to copy over files or to save what I am working on but more often than not the mac just disconnects from the server. Initially, it connects with CMD+K but then I will get the spinning beachball and the finder will close or it will stay open only to close once I start copying files. I am connected over VPN and have selected use SMB in file sharing but the issue persists and is getting worse. I still haven't found a fix to this and I would appreciate it if anyone has had a similar problem and has been able to resolve it. Thanks.
