Find my Friends

How else can you find out when you started sharing locations with someone other than scrolling back through your text thread.

Find my friends I share my location with a friend and they share their location with me. Currently theirs shows location not found in my friends list. If they stopped sharing their location, I thought that meant they disappeared out of my friends list? what exactly does location not found mean?
