Apple watch wont charge after using it on water mode

My apple gen5 won’t charge. I went for a swim and put it on water mode. After the swim, I took it off to sleep and forgot to take water mode off. Now it won’t charge. All that’s displaying is the red bolt and time. I tried resetting it but it won’t. I left it to charge but a couple hours but when I came back to it, it has not changed. What do I do? Did the water mode screw with it?
